The situation
A custom decals and awards store in the US ran on Shopify and TikTok Shop with one owner doing everything. Each job was small: syncing products to TikTok, copying award-order forms into a spreadsheet, building order pages, keeping texts going. Together they ate her week and left no time to sell.
What I did
I took over the store's weekly operations as a retainer. Catalog first: I connected Shopify to TikTok Shop and synced 98 products, added 31 colour options through a CSV bulk import, and rebuilt the 76 products that went over TikTok's 300 variants per product limit so they listed cleanly. A small CSS fix kept the storefront's own colour dropdowns untouched while the TikTok feed kept working.
The automation layer
Truck show award orders arrive through a long form. A Google Apps Script now reads each submission, adds a row to the show schedule, builds a one-page order summary and drafts the confirmation email. The owner reviews every draft before production starts, so nothing goes to a customer unchecked. I also ran the store's first SMS promotion to a list of about 2,300 subscribers, which got a 4.9 percent click rate.
Outcome
Still running as a weekly retainer since November 2025. Order details no longer get copied by hand, the catalog sells on a second channel, and the work saves the owner hours of manual admin every week.
